Welcome!

This blog is dedicated to members of a very special community: families, clinicians, teachers and researchers of children experiencing developmental or emotional challenges. In my work as a clinical psychologist and consultant with families, schools and social service agencies, I am grateful each day for the opportunity to dialogue with parents and colleagues. This is a time of unprecedented promise for all of us who work with children and families.

We know more now than ever before about the importance of intervening early and the remarkable capacities of the brain for growth and change. New information is emerging every day from research, books, blogs, conferences, parent reports, and from so many other sources.  Useful insights that once took years to reach parents and practitioners, we can now share instantly with one another to the benefit of every child. I will be drawing from that broad and growing field of activity to share highlights that I hope will be encouraging and helpful to your child’s development or the children and parents you work with.

The journey of learning is a back and forth process.  I welcome your comments, reflections and points of interests for future blog posts.
